Buffalo River Bridge Update

The Buffalo River Bridge advisory has been updated.

Located at km 55.7 on the Fort Smith Highway (Highway 5), the bridge is undergoing rehabilitation. During construction from April 3 to October 31, 2017 there will be intermittent road closures for up to 30 minutes.  Please observe reduced speed limits within the construction zone, where speeding fines are double.

Vehicles exceeding legal width, height or loading allowances are required to adhere to the pre-approval authorization process at all times.

 

RESTRICTIONS BY DATE:

Friday, July 14, 2017 (6:00 pm ) to Sunday July 16, 2017 (noon):

  • Single lane (up to 4.5 meters wide, 4.5 meters high allowed)
  • No overweight loads will be allowed
  • Lanes will be alternating

 

Sunday, July 16, 2017 (noon) until Thursday, July 20, 2017 (6:00 pm)

  • Single lane (up to 3.5 meters wide at the base of the jersey barriers / 4.0 meters wide for loads which clear the 0.9 meter high jersey barriers, 4.5 meters high allowed)
  • No overweight loads will be allowed
  • Lanes will be alternating
  • No wide loads will be allowed

 

Thursday, July 20, 2017 (6:00 pm) to October 31, 2017

  • Single lane (up to 3.0 metres wide, 4.5 meters high allowed)
  • No overweight loads will be allowed
  • Lanes will be alternating
  • No wide loads will be allowe
